The public aspect of the building is emphasised by its classically inspired design, which is further stressed in the entrance portico that constitutes its most significant urban aspect. Reinforcing its image of austerity, relevant to the institutional function of the building, this portico serves additionally to protect the western façade from the sun. The highest of its arches clearly defines the main entrance to the Court of Justice.
O carácter público do edifício foi sublinhado recorrendo a um desenho de inspiração clássica cuja monumentalidade se exacerba no pórtico de entrada que constitui a sua face urbana mais significativa. Reforçando a imagem de austeridade que corresponde à função institucional do edifício, este pórtico confere ainda protecção solar à fachada Poente. O seu vão de maiores dimensões assinala claramente a entrada nobre do Palácio da Justiça.
