Cable car to run over the valley of Ribeira de São João between two stations (southern station - Jardim Botânico, northern station - Babosas). The defining feature of this project lies essentially in the intent to disguise the two stations, in order to reduce to a minimum their impact on the landscape, where it is intended the vegetation should continue to predominate. The northern station was built into a tunnel, on a very steep slope, using the current technology of the highway tunnels. The southern station is built on sloping terraces where existing agricultural platforms will be maintained. Any external cement walls that remain visible will be camouflaged with green creepers.

Teleférico composto por duas estações no vale da Ribeira de São João no Funchal (estação sul – Jardim Botânico, estação norte – Babosas).
O projecto caracteriza-se essencialmente pela dissimulação das duas estações de forma a reduzir ao mínimo o seu impacto numa paisagem onde se pretende que a vegetação continue a predominar. A estação norte, implantada numa encosta de acentuada pendente, foi executada em túnel, utilizando a tecnologia corrente dos túneis rodoviários. Na estação sul o edifício insere-se nos socalcos do terreno, mantendo a continuidade das plataformas agrícolas existentes. As fachadas visíveis em betão aparente serão revestidas por trepadeiras.
