Extension of the premises of the Madeira Wine Company in Funchal, including the construction of a wine cellar, production line and full conversion of administrative offices and wine storage space.
The work spanned an entire block in the centre of Funchal; besides the new structures, some 18th and 19th century buildings were also restored.
The project attempted to resolve the complex functional requirements of the wine making facilities themselves, whilst respecting limitations imposed on the restoration of old buildings located on the edge of the urban perimeter. This was successfully achieved, putting an end to the difficulties this important industrial unit was undergoing.

Ampliação das instalações da Madeira Wine Company no Funchal incluindo a construção de edifício para armazenagem de garrafas, linha de vinificação e remodelação integral dos espaços destinados à administração e adega.
A intervenção abrangeu todo um quarteirão no centro da cidade do Funchal onde, para além das novas construções, se procedeu à recuperação de um núcleo de edifícios dos sec. XVIII e XIX.
O projecto tentou resolver os complexos requisitos funcionais inerentes ao funcionamento da adega com as restrições decorrentes da reutilização de edifícios antigos no limiar do casco histórico da cidade, pondo um fim ao marasmo em que esta importante unidade industrial se encontrava mergulhada.
